Workforce & Talent Development
|
This month, our Education & Talent Management Director, Julie Davids:
Partnered with four local healthcare organizations to interview nearly 15 high school juniors and seniors for real life open C.N.A. positions. A couple of offers were made. Companies represented were Evergreen, Lakeshore Manor, Aspire and Home Care Assistance. Partnered with three local healthcare organizations to meet with juniors and seniors who are interested in going into the health & science career pathway. Ryan Dentistry, Physical Achievement Center and Chronic Care Partners represented jobs in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, health care management, dentistry, and dental hygiene. Met with Advocate Health to discuss how to partner with OASD on job shadows and youth apprenticeships. The goal is to start these programs in the fall of 2023. Secured a high school student an IT internship with WICTRA. The student will be focusing on cybersecurity. Met with Bergstrom to partner with OASD’s Youth Apprenticeship program starting now. Nearly 15 students met with Bergstrom’s leaders to learn about the youth apprentice program and then toured the facility. Had a celebration lunch with high school students from Oshkosh public and private schools who were chosen to participate in Youth Leadership Oshkosh. This program is being re-launched next school year. Met with EAA to potentially form a partnership with the OASD. The goal is for students K-12 to learn and explore the world of aviation.
