Oshkosh Chamber Appoints New President & CEO | | |
The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously at its May 27 Board meeting to appoint Rob Kleman as the new President and CEO of the organization. Kleman is currently the Oshkosh Chamber’s Senior Vice President of Economic Development. Kleman has served in various economic development roles for the Oshkosh Chamber since 1990. He will begin his new role on January 1, 2023. John Casper, current President and CEO, announced he will retire on December 31, 2022. | | | |
A Transition Committee was established consisting of members of the Oshkosh Chamber Board of Directors to develop a process and succession plan that will lead to the selection of the new President & CEO. The QTI Group, an executive search firm, was hired to conduct a CEO search and candidate evaluation on behalf of the Board of Directors. Oshkosh Chamber Board Chair Joan Woldt commented, “on behalf of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and its membership, we are extremely pleased with Rob’s commitment to our community and the Chamber. This is a well-deserved promotion. Rob is a strong leader who brings extensive experience, understanding and a commitment to economic development, membership, sustainability and relationship building to this position. Please congratulate and support him as he transitions to his new role.”

Trina Woldt Named New Director of Leadership Oshkosh | | |
| The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Oshkosh native Trina Woldt as the new Director of Leadership Oshkosh. Since 2017, the program has been under the supervision of Patti Andresen-Shew, who recently announced her retirement.
Aside from being a Leadership Oshkosh Alum, Woldt brings a variety of experiences to her new role with the Chamber. Her most recent position was held with Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group as their Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to this, she held various positions with the Paine Art Center, American Girl and ad agencies mcgarrybowen and FCB Global. | | |
Woldt also serves on various Boards, including Kitchen Possible and the Paine Art Center. “The Oshkosh Chamber is excited to welcome Trina to the team. Her past experiences and bright personality are sure to lead our future Leadership Oshkosh classes to success,” said John Casper, President & CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce.

Lakeshore Development Announces New Hotel Lakeshore Development of Oshkosh recently announced that they will be developing a Tru by Hilton Hotel along Oshkosh Avenue. The hotel will be developed in conjunction with American Companies and Kinseth Hospitality Management and will include a 90-room, 4 story hotel with construction commencing in the Fall of 2022 or Early Spring 2023 with an opening expected for Spring of 2024. The same development group recently opened the new 103 room TownePlace Suites by Marriott in the same area. Another Dunkin’ and Baskin Robbins Store Coming to Oshkosh Oshkosh should see the development of its second Dunkin/Baskin Robbins store after the city Plan Commission approved a recommendation to develop a drive thru at the former La Sure’s Restaurant site on the northwest corner of South Park Avenue and Ripple Lane. An O’Reilly Auto Parts Store will also be developed on the neighboring site to the northeast. Construction on Camping World Under Way Construction began this month on a new Camping World store at 3855 S. Washburn Street. The new 35,000 square foot retail store and RV Sales dealership will be located on a 13 acre site near the OshVegas Palms Resort. Construction continues along Oshkosh Avenue Construction continues on the new Popeyes Chicken in addition to The Taqueria and Teriyaki Madness along Oshkosh Avenue. The Teriyaki Madness project received a loan from the Oshkosh Chamber’s OAEDC Revolving Loan Fund program for small businesses. In addition, Fox Communities Credit Union opened in their new location at 1870 Oshkosh Avenue. First Weber Real Estate also relocated from its offices on 6th and Oregon to the new office building at 1660 Oshkosh Avenue, Suite 100 in April.

Cruisin’ Tikis Oshkosh Coming to the Fox River A new Coast-Guard certified, six passenger floating tiki boat equipped with a bar, Bluetooth sound system and cooler is ready to sail on the Fox River this summer. Oshkosh residents Joe and Tammy Lefeber launched this family-owned business this spring and plan their first cruises in early June. | | | |
This is the first Cruisin’ Tiki venture in Wisconsin and it was funded in part by a loan through the Oshkosh Chamber’s OAEDC Revolving loan fund program for small businesses. The Cruisin’ Tiki boat will be docked at the Fox River Brewing Company and customers can bring their own food and beverages or purchase Tiki-To-Go food and drink from the Fox River Brewing Company. | | |
Cabrini School Lofts Project Completed Northpointe Development held an open house on May 25th for their recently completed apartment complex at 619 Merritt Avenue in the former Cabrini School. The redevelopment project includes 33 senior living units and leasing activities are beginning immediately. Oshkosh Unemployment Rate Falls in April The Oshkosh jobless rate continues to remain at historic lows. The unemployment rate for April of 2022 was 2.3% compared to 2.5% in March of 2022 and 3.7% in April of 2021. There are 370 more Oshkosh City residents working in April of 2022 vs. 2021 while its labor force increased by 110 people during the same timeframe. Thirty-eight students graduated on May 25th from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program held at The Waters. During the program, participants serve as adjunct members on 31 different boards and committees throughout the community as well as leading a community fundraiser raising over $19,400 to benefit Lakeland Care and the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Foundation - Leadership Oshkosh Program. A focus of funds raised will be to host a Resource/Job Fair on October 5th coordinated by Lakeland Care benefiting those with disabilities.
