WISCONSIN TOMORROW SMALL BUSINESS RECOVERY GRANTS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS THROUGH JUNE 7

• Applications for the Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business grants are being accepted through 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7.  
• These grants, which are funded with federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), will provide up to $420 million to as many as 84,000 small businesses around the state.  
• The program is open to all businesses with revenues between $10,000 and $7 million that opened on or before December 31, 2020. 
• Every eligible business will receive a grant of $5,000, which can be used for any purpose – such as paying back rent, renovating spaces, hiring staff, etc. The intention is to get our small businesses moving again.  

Eligible businesses will apply through DOR’s site. It will be easy and quick.

WATERFEST UPDATE

Summer 2021 heralds the triumphant return of Waterfest, with fan favorite Hairball scheduled for opening night, June 17. Booking of featured acts and guest artists continues, with the following bands scheduled so far:

 ♫ June 17: Hairball, with Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns, and The Presidents

 ♫ June 24: Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, with Chicago Soul Artist Bette Smith, Oshkosh Jazz Fest Preview

 ♫ July 15: To be announced

 ♫ August 5: America, with David Paul Martin, Sly Joe & The Smooth Operators

 ♫ August 12: Cornerstones of Rock, with BBI

 ♫ August 19: J.J. Grey & Mofro, Alex McMurray Band with Paul Sanchez, and The Pocket Kings

 ♫ August 26: The Music of Boston & Journey, with Road Trip

 ♫ September 2: Child's Anthem: The Music of Toto, Steely Dane

Nine shows will be scheduled. General  admission and VIP reserved seating will be available for each show, as well as season passes for the entire summer.

CITY OF OSHKOSH HOUSING STUDY

The City of Oshkosh is conducting a housing survey to identify perceptions, opportunities, and challenges in Oshkosh's housing market.

Capstone Day Ties Leadership Experiences and Encourages Next Steps

Leadership Oshkosh participants met at Oshkosh Corporation for their last day of the 9-month program. Opportunity Day encourages the 24 aspiring leaders within the class to reflect on opportunities realized this past year and consider opportunities beyond Leadership Oshkosh. Capstone topics discussed were the benefits of leading with inclusion, their non-profit adjunct board experiences, and factors for life satisfaction.

LEADERSHIP OSHKOSH RAISES FUNDS FOR NON-PROFITS

The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Leadership Oshkosh Class of 2021 ran a hybrid (virtual and in-person) trivia contest and raffle on May 20 that raised $16,473.00 in support of Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Inc. and the Oshkosh Chamber Foundation for the Leadership Oshkosh program. The fundraiser is a component of their program to develop current and emerging leaders from various segments of the community, and train them to become active and involved citizens.

24 GRADUATE FROM LEADERSHIP OSHKOSH PROGRAM

Twenty-four students graduated on May 27 from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program held at The Waters. The program was started in 1989 by the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce to help people in the community grow and develop. This year marks the 32^nd program year. 1,110 people have graduated from the Leadership Oshkosh program.
