| | | The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce Danielle DiMartino Booth, CEO & Chief Strategist for QI Research, as the keynote speaker for the annual Economic Outlook Breakfast. This highly anticipated event will take place on February 11, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Oshkosh Convention Center.

| Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce to Participate in Regional transportation Plan | | |
| |
| East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (ECWRPC) is working with local communities in the greater Oshkosh area, including the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, on a regional transportation Plan. Vision 2050 will provide the vision and goals to guide the future of the transportation system in the area.

| ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATES | | |

- The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced the launch of the Wisconsin Investment Fund, a public-private venture capital initiative that will initially invest $100 million in startup businesses throughout the state. The first round of funding will be administered through six venture capital management firms in partnership with the state of Wisconsin. The goal of the fund is to help more entrepreneurs scale their businesses, create jobs in emerging fields, and ensure that Wisconsin can continue its trend of innovators and trailblazers.
- S. Main Street in Oshkosh is getting a new business as Flights Wine and Cocktail Club is moving into the former Brooklyn Grill space. The remodel and renovation is ongoing with plans to open within the next few months. The Oshkosh Chamber is proud to have played a part in this project through the OAEDC Revolving Loan Fund (RLF).
MAY 2024 UNEMPLOYMENT RATE RISES
The unemployment rates for Oshkosh and Winnebago County dropped as reported by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD).
CITY OF OSHKOSH EMPLOYMENT DATA The data indicated that the unemployment rate for May 2024 was 3.0%, 3 points higher from April of 2024 and several points higher than May 2023. There were 33,921 Oshkosh City residents working this year in May vs. 33,719 last year, for a total gain of 202 workers year over year. The total labor force numbers in May were 34,980 in 2024 versus 34,663 in May of 2023.
WINNEBAGO COUNTY EMPLOYMENT DATA The Winnebago County unemployment rate for May 2024 was 2.8%, higher than the rate from May 2023, 2.5%, and higher than the April 2024 number of 2.6%. There were 90,673 Winnebago County residents working this year vs. 90,132 last year, for a net gain of 541 workers. Winnebago County’s labor force numbers in May were 93,257 in 2024 versus 92,461 in May of 2023.
WISCONSIN and US EMPLOYMENT DATA The Wisconsin May 2024 unemployment rate was 3.0%, higher than the May of 2023 rate, 2.8%, but the same as the April 2024 rate. In May, there were 3,037,011 statewide residents working this year vs. 3,026,887 last year, for a gain of 10,124 workers. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is still below the national average of 3.9%.
