OSHKOSH AREA JOBLESS RATES REMAIN LOW
Oshkosh and Winnebago County unemployment rates continued to remain at some of their lowest levels in May 2021, since topping out at over 14% at the height of the pandemic back in April of 2020. The unemployment rates for Oshkosh and Winnebago County remained among some of the lowest in the state and region as reported by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD). CITY OF OSHKOSH EMPLOYMENT DATA The data indicated that the unemployment rate for May 2021 was 3.7%, up slightly from 3.6% in April of 2021 but down significantly from its high of 14.3 percent in April 2020. By comparison, the unemployment rate in May of 2020 was 10.1%. | | | | | |

Both flights are on the Embraer E-175, a new regional airliner with 76 seats and 12 first-class seats. ATW has also added a new flight to Savannah/Hilton Head on Allegiant. This limited-time summer flight continues through August 16th.

Community First Credit Union has promoted Craig Gloudemans to Vice President of Finance and welcomed Bill Gunckel as Vice President of Information Security. Gloudemans’ Community First career began in 2001 as one of the first student tellers at the in-school credit union branch at Appleton West High School. Gunckel has spent the last 23 years working with companies in the Fox Valley to develop their Information Technology/Information Security programs, most recently with Navitus Health Solutions. | | The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh announced that the state legislature’s Joint Finance Committee has advanced its version of the state’s 2021-23 capital budget, including $26.9 million for renovations to the College of Education and Human Services building. “[T]he project will provide much needed mechanical upgrades to the building and further transform it into the modern center for teacher education and UWO course delivery we have long sought,” Chancellor Andrew Leavitt said. | | |

Oshkosh Defense has been awarded a nearly $1 billion U.S. Army contract to update the weapons system on Stryker carrier vehicles. “This upgrade will provide precision lethality capability to the Army’s Stryker Brigade Combat Team,” says Oshkosh Corporation.
